Healthy Blonde Brownies

Healthy Blonde Brownies


1 (15 oz) can of chickpeas, rinsed and drained or 1 1/2 cups of cooked chickpeas

1/2 cup all – natural almond butter or peanut butter

1/3 cup maple syrup, honey or agave <<–  I used maple syrup

1 Large Egg

2 tsp of vanilla

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/3 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8×8 inch pan.

2. In a food processor, add all ingredients except the chocolate chips and pulse until batter is smooth.

3. Mix in the chocolate chips.

4. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean

5. Cool for 10 minutes.

These blondies look fantastic! I have never tried baking with chick peas but they are one of my favorite foods so it looks like I will be trying this recipe sometime soon. Thanks for sharing on Friday Favorites.

They are delicious! I have made these as well as regular chocolate brownies with chickpeas and no one knows the difference :-) It’s so great!
