For your help in understanding the abbreviations that you will see here daily as well as in the Weekly Drugstore Sales Matchups, I have compiled list of the Coupon “Lingo” you will see.

Sunday inserts:
P&G = Procter & Gamble Sunday insert
RP = Red Plum
SS = SmartSource
GM - General Mills
UL - Unilever
When I list a store sale and there is a coupon from a Sunday coupon insert, the information on where to find the coupon is shown as “Use the $1 coupon from the 5/1 SS“. This is telling you to use the $1 coupon from the SmartSource coupon insert in the Sunday, May 1st newspaper.
Coupon lingo:
$1/2 – One dollar off two items.
3/$2 – Three items for two dollars.
+UP – Rite Aid Rewards printed on receipts to use on other purchase
BOGO – Buy one item get one item free
B2GO – Buy two items get one item free
Blinkie – Grocery or drugstore coupon dispensers in front of products in stores.
Cat - Catalina coupon which prints from a separate machine when your receipt prints.
CRT – Cash register tape that print on receipts at CVS.
ECB – ExtraCare Bucks, CVS rewards program printed on receipts to use on other purchase.
FAR – Free after rebate
IVC – Instant Value Coupon. Walgreens store coupons found in monthly booklet in stores.
MFR – Manufacturer
MIR – Mail-in rebate
OYNO – On your next order
OOP - Out of pocket
Peelie – Coupons on products packages that are removable and able to use immediately or later.
RR = Register Rewards. Walgreens rewards coupons printed at checkout to use on other purchase.
SCR = Single Check Rebate. Rite Aid monthly rebates program
wyb = When you buy
