You would want to hand over your RR first when you total is at it's highest. Sometimes if you present your coupons first, the balance due would become lower than your RR value and therefore the register would beep!
If you use the manufacturer coupon after the Walgreens store coupon, the register might beep to indicate that the value of the coupon is greater than the value of the item. BUT, handing over the manufacturer's coupon first, the register will deduct that amount and the Walgreens coupon will go through without any beeps.
Sometimes there is a overage amount that can be applied to other items purchased.
Walgreen's does have a coupon to item ratio. You can only use 1 manufacturer coupon and /or RR per item purchased. So what that means is that if you are purchasing three items, you can use up to a combination of three manufacturer coupons and/or RR's ). Walgreens coupons do not count toward that ratio.
I hope this helps a little more. Feel free to ask any questions!

Hi! That order is the best to afford any register confusion or the dreaded beeps. We don’t like beeps <img

I've been just handing them all over and the checker rings them in however. I'm still new to couponing as well so learning the best ways to save the most is worth knowing!!

Why is it that RR should be used first, then manf coupons, then store? I had $3 in RR and the $2 store coupon from the monthly ad and $1 manf. coupon, I also had fillers. The cashier I tried to use the above order, cashier told me that I had to use the store coupon, manf. coupon, then RR maybe because of the dollar amounts that I was using. Unsure but she voided and did it her way it worked.

Hi. I went today and was purchasing the U by Kotex. It is a little system...always give the RR's first, then Manufacturer's coupons, and lastly the Store coupons. And another very important thing to remember is that you can't have more items than coupons. For example, if you have an item that you have a manufacturer's coupon and a store coupon for then you need a little filler item to use so that both coupons will go thru. I always grab a pack of gum or candy bar at the register if that happens. If you have 6 coupons, you have to have 6 (or more items) for all the coupons to work. And sometimes you may have to do a little math to make sure you will be paying at least a few cents if you have lots of RR's and coupons to use. Also, you can not use a RR to purchase another of the items that you earned the RR from. Does that make sense? So, you can't use the $7 RR from the Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion that is available right now to purchase another Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion.

I hope this helps. It is so worth it:)

Hi LaShan, I'm sorry that you had that happen. I was doing 2 separate transactions and it wouldn't accept my RR's... she said I had too many coupons and that I should use my RR's first. So on my next transaction I did... and then it wouldn't accept my manufacturer's coupon's because they would make Walgreen's owe me money back... I ended up feeling I had wasted my RRs and my coupons on the transaction. So am I supposed to add up before I get to the register what I should owe after MCs and Store coupons and give that amount in RRs first... then the MCs.. and then the SCs? I've been doing SCs, MCs and then RRs... completely backwards and not always working for me.

I'm still learning a lot about the do's and don'ts.... and I learned quite a few last trip...lol Still got some great bargains though :)

Thanks!!!

A Lil Enchanted,
~LaShan~

Hi Sherri… I had coupon issues at Walgreen's on my last trip… I was doing 2 separate transactions and it wouldn't accept my RR's… she said I had too many coupons and that I should use my RR's first.
